David Bensol —Former CEO of Arcadia Resources, Inc. David Bensol has been a Director for NutraCea since March 2005. Previously, Mr. Bensol was Chief Executive Officer of Critical Home Care, a company he founded in 2000 and later merged with Arcadia Resources, Inc. (OTC BB: ACDI). He was Executive Vice President and Director of Arcadia Resources from May 2004 until his retirement in December 2004. A registered pharmacist, Mr. Bensol spent the1980s and 1990s founding companies offering solutions for home medical equipment providers, acute care pharmacy providers, and specialty support surface providers.
Bradley D. Edson —Chief Executive Officer, NutraCea Bradley D. Edson has served as NutraCea's Chief Executive Officer since October 2005, and as President and a Director since December 2004. Before joining NutraCea, Mr. Edson was Chairman and CEO of Vital Living Inc. (OTC BB: VTLV), which primarily developed and marketed nutraceuticals. Earlier, Mr. Edson spent a decade developing a nationwide insurance agency focused on distribution channels for retail-based specialty products. Mr. Edson was also a former principle and officer of a NASD broker/dealer firm. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Arizona State University.
Jim Lintzenich —Former President and Chief Operating Officer of SLM Corporation James C. Lintzenich has been Director since October 2005. Also a Director of The RiceX Company since June 2003, Mr. Lintzenich serves as a management consultant to U.S. companies. Previously, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of SLM Corporation (Sallie Mae). From December 1982 to July 2000, Mr. Lintzenich held various senior management and financial positions, including Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of USA Group, Inc. Today, he also serves on the Board of Directors of the Student Loan Marketing Association (an SLM Corp. subsidiary) and the Lumina Foundation for Education.
Edward McMillan —Former President and CEO of Purina Mills, Inc. Edward L. McMillan has been a director since October 2005. Mr. McMillan also owns and manages McMillan LLC., a transaction consulting firm which provides strategic consulting services and facilitates mergers and acquisitions, predominantly in the food and agribusiness industries. He was also a Director for the The RiceX Company from July 2004 to October 2005. Prior to working for Agri Business Group Inc. from August 1997 to April 1999, Mr. McMillan was President and CEO of Purina Mills Inc., a role he began in January 1988.
Previously, he held a number of senior-level management positions for Purina Mills and Ralston Purina, Inc. and Purina Mills. Mr. McMillan currently serves on the boards of Balchem Inc. (AMEX:BCP), Durvet Inc., Newco Enterprises Inc., CHB LLC, and Hintzsche Inc. Mr. McMillan also serves as Chair of the University of Illinois Research Park LLC and the University of Illinois Alumni Association. Steven W. Saunders —President of Saunders Construction, Inc. Steven W. Saunders, has been a Director since October 2005. From August 1998 to October 2005, Mr. Saunders was also a director of The RiceX Company. Mr. Saunders has been President of Saunders Construction Inc., a commercial construction firm, since February 1991. He is also President of Warwick Corporation, a business-consulting firm.
Kenneth L. Shropshire —Professor and Faculty Director, University of Pennsylvania Kenneth L. Shropshire is the David W. Hauck Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Faculty Director of its newly launched Wharton Sports Business Initiative. He served as Chairman of the School's Legal Studies department from 2000 thru 2005. Joining Wharton's faculty in 1986, Shropshire specializes in the subject areas of sports business, negotiations, diversity and general business law. He is also president of the Sports Lawyers Association, the largest organization of its kind in the sports industry.
Earlier, Shropshire was counsel to Van Lierop, Burns & Bassett, LLP, and prior to his teaching at the Wharton School, he was a practicing attorney in Los Angeles, CA. There, he also served as an executive with the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee leading up to the 1984 Olympic Games. He has been consultant to a wide variety of well-known organizations that include the NCAA, National Football League, Major League Baseball, United States Olympic Committee, IBM, Clorox, and Fannie Mae. Shropshire was also appointed by the Mayor of Philadelphia to chair the city's stadium site selection committee that is currently assessing the city's possible bid for the 2024 Olympic Games. Authoring several award-winning books, Shropshire has written extensively about the sports industry. He most recently co-authored "The Business of Sports," and is presently working on a book entitled "Sugar Ray: The Birth of the Modern Celebrity Athlete." Widely known for his expertise on a range of sports industry matters, Shropshire has appeared on network television programs and in numerous publications such as Nightline, CNN, The New York Times, USA Today and Sports Illustrated. Wesley K. Clark —U.S. Army General, Retired General Wesley K. Clark served in the United States Army for 34 years and in his final military assignment as a four-star general, from July 1997 until May 2000, he served as the NATO Supreme Allied Commander, Europe and simultaneously, Commander-in-Chief, U.S. European Council.
He has received numerous military awards, including the Purple Heart, Silver Star, and Bronze Star, and he has also been awarded the nation's highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom. His previous assignment was as Commander-in-Chief, US Southern Command, where he was responsible for all US military activities in Latin America. Clark graduated first in his class from the United States Military Academy at West Point and studied for two years at England's Oxford University on a Rhodes scholarship. In September 2003, Clark announced his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. Since returning to the private sector in 2004, he has resumed activities as CEO of Wesley K. Clark & Associates, a strategic advisory and consulting firm. Last fall he joined the UCLA's Burkle Center for International Relations as a Senior Fellow. Currently, General Clark is the Chairman of Rodman and Renshaw, an investment bank based in New York and London, and serves on the boards of directors of several private and public companies.
